Wondering why knitters make a gauge swatch? What actually are you suppose to do with it? In this one workshop, we'll take the mystery out of gauge swatches and learn why they are such an important part of successful knitting projects.
You will be able to make and measure your own gauge swatches and have a better understanding of how to use them when choosing yarn, needles, and patterns.
Supplies not included. All students get 20% off in-store purchase during the duration of this class. Materials must be purchased in advance before class starts.

What to bring:
- 1 skein of preferred yarn. Ideally yarn to be used in a future project
- Circular knitting needles. Size that is expected for the yarn weight you are bringing.
Class Breakdown:
This class will walk you through what gauge means, when and why you need to check it, and how to create a proper swatch using the knit stitch, the most commonly used stitch in knitting. We'll practice knitting a swatch, learn how to measure your stitches and rows, and understand how your results can affect the fit and size of a finished project.
