Which Yarn Do I Pick?

Serene

Our classic, everyday 100% Merino base. Works for almost anything. Knits up very well, and it gives crisp stitch definition. Tighter twist gives minimal pilling.

Som

Soft, airy, and weightless. It's breathable enough for year-round wear. Great for crocheters because they don't split easily. Gives good stitch definition but looks best in the classic knit stitch.

Gauge + Yarn

Yarn weight gets you in the right range, but gauge is what decides how your piece fits.

Aran weight usually knits at: 16 - 18 stitches over 4 inches on US 8 to 10 (5 to 6mm) knitting needles, and crochet hooks.

It's a little heavier than worsted and makes a thick, warm fabric that knits up quickly. Knit a swatch and block it before you measure, even if the label matches your pattern. Aran yarn is ideal for winter sweaters, outerwear cardigans, blankets, and bold cables.
