CFC Som Aran
The DK and Aran weight are slightly different. Aran has more Baby Alpaca + Merino blown into the cotton tube to create the thickness we desire. Therefore they also dye differently. The Aran base is more matte. Look at photo to see comparison.
Som (means Cotton in Korean) - Alpaca and Pima Cotton are fibers we usually associate with drape, but the wonderful construction of this yarn adds loft and structure to this super soft blend. It's soft enough for sensitive skin, with a gentle halo, and breathable enough to wear across seasons. A good choice for knitters who love the look of mohair but find it itchy.

Dye Lots
As with any hand-dyed yarn, slight variations between batches are normal. If you order more than one skein of a color, we'll send skeins from the same dye lot. For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows.
Notes
Som Aran knits up quickly and feels lighter than its weight suggests, so thick sweaters won't feel heavy. The extra alpaca and merino give it more halo and a softer, heathered color than Som DK. You can go up to a US 10 (6mm) for a looser, airier fabric.

I made blouse no.1 out of Serene Fingering held double that I got at Flock, and it was a DREAM to work with. It's so soft, there's absolutely 0 itch whatsoever. Held double, the fabric is super plush and cozy without feeling too dense. I would LOVE to work it held single with a mohair bc oh my god that sounds incredible!
