Hi, I'm Silbia
Owner and Dyer

I joined Camellia Fiber Company as an assistant in 2016 and eventually took over the business.

When I took over, I had to learn everything from scratch: how to dye, run a business, and take photos. I even took a knitting class. There were times I wanted to give up, and there was a lot of trial and error, but nothing was wasted.

Almost ten years in, this work has made me more creative than I ever thought I could be. It has taken me places I never imagined, and I've met so many talented makers and made many friends. This community has welcomed and supported me and my work. As an Asian woman in this industry, I don't take that for granted.

If you've bought our yarn, visited our booth, or followed along on social media, you're part of my story. Your support makes it all possible.

Favorite color: I love dyeing Camellia (pink) but I mainly wear black and white.
Favorite base: Serene in any weight.
Favorite project: Make Yourself Flower Vest. It was my first intarsia and first bottom up.
