Exclusively made for Camellia Fiber Company. Serene is 19.5 microns with 4 plies so this is not your typical merino yarn. The tighter twist and extra plies give it a round, bouncy structure that gives great stitch definition and minimal pilling. They are hand-dyed in small batches in our Nashville studio.
Length: 437 yards / 400 meters
Product details
Fiber Content + Measurements
Fiber content: 100% 19.5 Micron Merino Wool
Length: 438 yards / 400 meters
Weight: Fingering
Skein Weight: 100g
Construction: Mill-spun. 4-ply
Care: Non-superwash. Hand wash cool, dry flat.
Suggested needle size:
Knitting: US 1 to 3(2.25 to 3.25mm)
Crochet: B-1 to E-4 (2.25–3.5 mm)
Dye Lots
As with any hand-dyed yarn, slight variations between batches are normal. If you order more than one skein of a color, we'll send skeins from the same dye lot. For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows.
Hand-dyed Serene and Serene Bloom colors with the same name are close matches but different dye lots.
Notes
Fingering weight: (4-ply) Fine enough for shawls, colorwork, and next-to-skin sweaters, with the structure to hold intricate stitch patterns. Merino has natural elasticity, so ribbing snaps back and garments hold their shape. Great fro sweaters, cardigans, hats, and mittens.
Made with Camellia
I've only shopped their yarns at events, but they're easily some of the most beautiful & understated yarns I've worked with! Each one is so special, and dyed with such care - super wearable and elegant colors, and the pieces I've knit with them have become instant favorites. Love love love!
I was in Nashville for a work trip and always look up local yarn stores. Camellia Fiber Company was so perfect to get my souvenir yarn. Her shop is so beautiful! I got there an hour before closing time on Saturday and she let me browse and look at yarn while she worked in the back. I didn't feel rushed at all and could plan what projects would work for which yarn. It was so hard to choose!!
The colors are so, so beautiful and the yarn is just delicious! I will definitely be ordering more online in the future and already dreaming of a sweater in her yarn. Know you are really supporting a fantastic local company when you buy here, and the yarn is so much better in person than you can imagine. I want a skein in every color!
I have made several items with Camellia's yarn and have been happy every time, best quality.
Your yarn is some of the best yarn I have ever used. I have made 10 sweaters with lots of your bases and will definitely be making more sweaters with your yarn! Your bases are perfect and colors are timeless.
Impeccable curation of fiber variety and color. Worth planning a trip to Nashville to feel everything on offer, and they ship to your door, too! With rotating seasonal colors, there's always reason to check back in for your next source of inspiration.
I’ve shopped with them several times. They always go the extra mile to personally talk to you and make sure everything is exactly how you want it. This is the most heartwarming and professional company I’ve dealt with in a long time.
I loveee Camellia Fiber Company. I've now knit three sweaters - and they are my absolute favorites! The quality of the yarn is unmatched - very little pilling, provides the necessary structure and consistency in colors! Recently tried Serene DK and just love the structure of this yarn! Hard to find great, drapery, vibrant NSW yarn and this will be my go-to moving forward. Looking forward to purchasing more!
I have looooved everything single yarn base of yours that I have tried, and I have used a lot of them. The way you use the color makes it feel like a neutral quite often and I love that! It allows the FOs to more easily mix and match with each other and with other clothes as well!
Your yarn is my absolute favorite! Every base I've ordered has been wonderful and the colors are always beautiful. I love your seasonal colors and always make sure to order at least one skein!
I love the quality, softness, and color consistency of all the Camellia Fiber yarns.
Lush, gorgeous yarn and a pleasure to work with. I purchased Serene Merino yarn for a Moonflower sweater.
I love this yarn! The quality is exceptional and the service is great. I continue to purchase from this store because it is just gorgeous yarn.
I absolutely love your yarn! I'm about 70% done with the Weekender in Magic Sprinkles and the speckles are so crisp and the yarn is so soft.
Honestly one of the sweetest yarn shops I know of. They were beyond helpful with all of my questions and I adore the memory sweater I made.
I’ve been a fan of Silbia’s yarn for years! I follow her to different shows around the country to get it. Her colors are more stunning than pictures can show, and some of the softest I’ve ever used.
I love every single base I've used and the colors are always on point. The dyes are so consistent that even the unevenly dyed sets I've bought on sale are workable in sweaters without much yarn management.
The CFC Organic Merino Sport is my FAVORITE yarn. So soft and squishy but still maintains shape.
