Details:

Class 1: Cast-On, Neckline & Yoke Foundations
We begin by casting on for the neckline and establishing the ribbed collar. From there, you’ll set up the raglan structure using markers, learn how top-down sweaters are built, and begin working the first sets of increases. We’ll also discuss gauge—what it means, why it matters, and how to adjust needle sizes to get the fabric you want.

Class 2: Short Rows & Raglan Shaping
In this session, we’ll work through the back-neck short rows that shape the upper yoke for a better fit. Then we’ll continue knitting the raglan increases, track shaping, and review how to read both the written instructions and your knitting.

Class 3-6: Separating Sleeves & Working the Body
Once the yoke is long enough, we’ll place the sleeve stitches on hold and join the body in the round. You’ll begin working the smooth stockinette body and learn how to customize the length and fit—cropped, standard, or somewhere in between. We’ll discuss hem options and how the split hem is created for the Gingerbread Sweater’s signature silhouette.

Class 6-8: Sleeves, Finishing & Blocking
In the final classes, we’ll pick up the sleeve stitches, knit them in the round, and shape them to your desired length. You’ll complete the twisted-rib cuffs and review techniques for tidy transitions, picking up stitches cleanly, and weaving in ends. We’ll finish with blocking methods and tips for caring for your finished sweater.

Paid class: No refunds for no-show or missed classes. If you give us a 48 notice prior to the start of the class, we will give you store credit.
