Hello Friends

Some of you already know our Serene base is exclusively made just for Camellia Fiber Company. We have recently updated the yarn construction from thick-n-thin to a standard consistent spin. But now we are so excited to reveal our newest Serene addition - Serene Bloom, a mill-dyed version.

We've been working on this for over a year and it's finally here. Available in 3 weights and nine colorways. Each color was carefully selected from our seasonal and signature color excluding 'Buttercup.' That is a special color only available in Serene Bloom. Because quantity is limited, they will only be available at in-person events (Flock, DFW, and Woolen Affair) Plans may change depending on availability.

What makes Serene so special?
Serene was developed and constructed from scratch exclusively for us back in 2021. Aran weight has 8-ply, DK has 6-ply, and Fingering has 4-ply with a slightly tighter twist. This minimizes pilling and gives great stitch definition. It's spun from 19.5 micron merino making it super soft and squishy. The wool is also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified, meaning it's independently tested and verified free from harmful substances at every stage of production.

Why did you decide to offer mill-dyed yarns?
We asked ourselves, could we offer the same standards, ethically sourced, genuinely soft yarn without the hand-dyed price? We saw a real gap between big-box yarns and indie hand-dyed yarns, especially here in the American market. Hand-dyed will always be our heart, but it comes with a price point that puts natural fibers out of reach for a lot of makers. We wanted to build something in that space, made with the same care and with intention we put into everything else here at Camellia Fiber.

Will you have more colors and different weights?
Yes! We are planning to have more colors and weights available in the future. Worsted and Sport weight is coming soon. As we offer more colors in the Bloom version, the hand-dyed option will eventually only be used for seasonal colors and special colors like Rainbow Sprinkles. In 2027, we should have the full range available for the Serene base from Aran to Fingering weight.

Spotting The Difference

Mill-dyed yarns are wound into a neat donut shape. It's actually why we named this line Serene Bloom because it resembles a blooming flower.

When you see our original twisted hanks, they are hand-dyed in small batches in Nashville. Our hand-dyed yarns are not going away.
