Rainbow Inspired Patterns

If you’ve ever wished you could knit joy into every stitch, Rainbow Sprinkles is your colorway. This confetti-like mix of brights and pastels brings instant cheer, whether you’re working on a sock or a light-airy scarf. But what patterns work best with a yarn that has so much personality? Today, we’re diving into a few of our favorite project ideas that let Rainbow Sprinkles do what it does best—stand out.

1. Marsha's Pride Pullover Henley by Elizabeth Margaret

We have collaborated with Elizabeth at One Wild Designs. The Marsha's Pride Henley Sweater was made with our Sōm DK base in Rainbow Sprinkles, this special colorway celebrates the LGBTQ community. She created this ultra lightweight drop shoulder Henley using a simple all-over lace technique.

Som is a wonderful yarn with a unique brushed chainette construction. This unique yarn gives the same effect as holding a wool and mohair or suri together, as such, it can be used in patterns which call for two yarns held together.

2. Wednesday Sweater by Petite Knits

There's a reason the Wednesday Sweater has become a wardrobe staple among knitters. Because of its clean and simple design, it goes so well with Rainbow Sprinkles - it creates just enough speckles without over powering it. Holding the Merino Worsted and Mohair together this gives this gentle halo that diffuses the speckles in just the right way. It's incredibly soft and cozy. Click here to order Rainbow Sprinkles. (Available only in June)

3. Dew Scarf by Irene Lin Designs

Delicate, floaty, and romantic, the Dew Scarf by Irene Lin is a lovely little neckpiece that turns even the smallest amount of yarn into something special. Rainbow Sprinkles gives the Dew Scarf the same feeling of morning light reflecting on a small dew droplet. It's a perfect match! This pattern can be worn as a scarf or hair piece. 4. Vintage Yak Sock from Camellia Fiber Company (Designed by Claire Kendle)

We knew we had to use Rainbow Sprinkles for our popular sock kit. Paired with Mohair in the color Thistle. Classic vintage style makes this sock a timeless piece. This would be perfect for kids. Click to get the Sock Kit - available for limited time.

5. Color Quadrant Crop by James N Watts

We simplified the pattern to 2 colors. Magic Sprinkles in Merino Worsted body and Earl Grey Yak DK for the edges and pocket. We added a little bit of Mohair to the upper right side shoulder. This pattern is so versatile and can be made with or without sleeves. It was a fun, quick project - and we can't get enough of that small pocket! Click here for pattern.

6. 'Scrappy Faded Sweater' and 'Sleeveless Ga'l by Twin Stitches Designs

2 options from one designer. Julie Ann from Twin Stitches is a knitwear designer (popular for her sock designs) from Canada.  The Scrappy Faded Sweater is designed to use up minis, scraps, leftovers, or from advent calendars. And the Sleeveless Gal is the perfect little vest. Click here to learn more about Twin Stitches.
